Derby Pride Academy
Derby Pride Academy is a joint venture between Derby County Football Club and Derby Pride Trust. The specific focus of Derby Pride Trust is to ensure that we provide a rounded education for young people between the ages of 3-19. Our aim is to support the development of each individual, both as effective learners and as responsible members of the community. Consequently, our work with young people will raise expectations and contribute to the well-being and cohesion of the community we serve.
Through a community focus - including family learning, family health, vocational and volunteer programmes - the Trust and its school partners develop opportunities for students and their families to be involved with the local and wider communities and engage in making a positive contribution to the wider society.
Trust partners are keen to work with these challenging students as part of their commitment to the Trust. This relationship will provide work-based placements, experiences and educational opportunities. For example, Peer Mentoring and Young Leader opportunities are nurtured between different educational establishments and Derby County in the Community; the NHS and University of Derby also provide focused input on careers and personal development. Such partners allow individuals to identify a purpose in life.
Although Trust partners recognise that these students may need greater levels of support, they are all prepared to persevere with them in order to secure positive outcomes for all.
