Ivy House School
Ivy House School is a day community special school for pupils aged 2-19 years who experience severe, profound multiple and complex learning difficulties.
Ivy House is a happy, supportive and purposeful environment where pupils are nurtured, praised and acknowledged for who they are, the skills they acquire and the tasks they accomplish.
Our pupils like to come to school. They are justifiably proud of what they achieve and enjoy celebrating not only their own successes but also those of their class mates and other peers across the age range.
We have a highly committed, professional and well skilled team of staff who work collaboratively with parents, carers and other professionals to overcome barriers and provide exciting and engaging opportunities for learning. We ensure that all aspects of what we offer meet the needs of each of our pupils whilst considering individual health and learning needs.
Ivy House embraces the ethos of “Where Every Child Matters”, which is crucial to the nurture and development of the Whole Child. We strive to encourage the development of communication skills, physical skills, cognitive skills, inter-personal skills, and independence skills at an individual level. There are opportunities to develop more formal skills and creativity as appropriate for individual pupils.
We aspire to provide each child with a wide range of experiences throughout their time in school, which will challenge and excite, for we firmly believe that life is not simply about the number of breaths we take but also about the moments that take your breath away!
